After partaking in the Pride festivities, I was parched. I stopped at Belleville's Watering Hole & Diner on the inner harbour with my pals. It's in front of/under the Day's Inn.
The huge patio started filling up as we arrived. We had a great view of the Coho Ferry as it arrived and were serenaded by the horn as they worked on fixing something that was wrong with it.
Appies and drinks were ordered. Two of us took advantage of the special and got a couple of gin Caesars.
They arrived with a simple, yet delicious garnish: a peperoncino, tomato, bocconcini combo that gave it a little Italian twist. The rim was steak salt meets pickling salt and the cocktail was refreshing and nicely balanced.
JB summed up the situation with "gin Caesars are just better. They just are."
Amen, brother.
