The Easter long weekend is over and with it came many Caesars that marked different things for my life. I finished up the weekend feeling renewed -- not because of the Caesars, but because of spring and Easter and rising again or something.
I left work on Friday afternoon and in between buying the new Iceberg Ferg record (SO GOOD) and an office dinner in Esquimalt at Blue Nile (also so good!), I stopped at the Clay Pigeon for a Caesar. I intended to order a bacon Caesar to do a Bacon Caesar-Off with Jam (next post), but I spaced out and just ordered a regular one.
I received a standard version of the cocktail -- the traditional recipe followed faithfully. As you can see in the picture, the single flamboyant touch is the garnish which is two different kinds of pickled onions and an olive beside a juicy wedge of lime. The onions were delicious. I should have asked if they were pickled in-house.
This solid cocktail gave me a chance to kill some time and check out the cover of the record I had just purchased.
I give it three "That'll do pig, that'll do." out of four.
